What WTXM had to gain by eliminating this lineup.
I've heard the pros and the cons of what coulda, shoulda, woulda been done.
But feel its a bad management decision that will cost them big time down the line.
Well whats left over there can revel in it without this listener.
But I still hope all good things to Mashburn and Shawn.
#1, TB to me is the best sports voice and wit going this side if Papa Joe. Now thats me and mho.
#2, The upside of what WTXM could have done with an intrested owner and producer might have shocked some people around here. But the politics, bad chemestry ect made it pan out this way...and I believe ultimatly for the best.
#3, A lot has been said about TB's work ethic. I know from personal experience that you have to have some footage on the leash to be able to work. I by no means know all the ins and outs of it on Sharps Ridge, But business's run to make money and folks have to be on the same page. We all learn as we go along how to play the game, and when played right it gets damn exciting. Played wrong and your working in imortal hell.
Could Tony have done more? I honestly do not know. But the guys that worked with him seemed to respect him an awfull lot.
#4, The "Sports Parlor" from 6 to 7 with BT & TBA, having the good to go for that next thursday, got waylaid and ambushed along with everything else.
Such is life! I wonder if anyone else got in and out of the radio biz so fast!
had enough creativity to bring in some good national
programs, and, through trial and error came up with a 24 hour mix that gave us good listening alternatives along with "the next level". -I hope that in time he can convince 850 to reel FOX back in.
-As for the brilliant brain-trust at 95.7/WIMZ, I'll have fun watching their ship sink as I paddle my way back to shore.
I'm sorry, but I really don't miss most of Fox Sports Radio so called talent. Tony Bruno was the only decent one of the bunch. JT "the dick", Dan (president of the south Florida reformatory alumni association and Jimmy Johnson admiration society) Sileo, and most of the rest of those clowns on the air were pitiful. I usually listened to the Mark Patrick show in the morning and he had shown steady improvement since taking over that slot from Sileo.
I thought that the line-up on 1240 before "The TEAM" was more interesting and entertaining, with the exception of "the flatulent sports blob". One on One sports I think it was. At first I was not a Papa Joe fan, but he came to be my favorite. He has one of the great sports radio voices and is extremely knowledgeable. Too bad he only gets heard for less than half the time he's on, due to the snoozes UT BB broadcasts.
I guess though, bad sports radio is better than NO sports radio.
-Too bad that the best of FOX and One on One could not
be combined somehow. I can't remember the guy's name
who they eventually got to replace "the Fabulous SB",
but I thought that he was pretty good. Just don't bring
"the blob" back -she sounds like she gargles with gasoline.
Hey Phil, where is Bob Kemp located? I want to hear the man that kicks Bruno`s butt. I remember Bruno for the ole ESPN radio days when he used to rip Dan Patrick like a red headed step child.
