With all the close games this team has been playing, losing Slay for the season, and playing 3 games in 5 days, a game like last night's was bound to happen. But, I expected it to happen on the road, to LSU or Vandy. Sometimes teams have to hit rock bottom before they can reach their peak. It will be interesting to see how they respond.
When was the last time the UT men's team was completely outplayed from beginning to end? The game against UK in the SEC tournament, Allan Houston's last game, is the first that comes to mind.
I can take losing because UTBB fans have seen a lot in the last 17 years but lack of effort is sore spot to me. I wish Buzz could sign about 10 players for next year. I'm tired of Jed's leftovers minus Slay and Haislip.
...I'm over Vincent's self-centeredness. It's been the same tired old excuses since Vince discovered the "sleeping giant" lo these many years ago. It's the atmosphere that sucks, but I'm sure Tall knows best...
This team is emotionally spent. Other than preparing for tournament play, I don't understand the reason for scheduling the MTSU game on a Monday after Syracuse and before SC. I don't think it was lack of effort as much as they have nothing left in the tank, which will look like no effort. I hope Buzz doesn't look at the tape and will give these guys a day or two off. The need to recharge their batteries.
