I am really not a Cougar guy, but I am a Mercury nut. I have a 351 cleveland in complete (air cleaner to oil pan, with exhaust manifolds) that ran just weeks ago. The thing does not knock, rattle,or tap. The 71 Cougar had been sitting for about 2 years and did not smoke when parked. I pulled the motor out of the rusted hull and parted almost all of the car out. All that is left is this 351 and a working FMX trans. Anyone near Chambersburg Pa. interested in saving a Cougar motor? or need an original motor for their car? $250.00 takes both, I'll load them. gearhead@pa.net
