hi

I have an Alabaster Amp, as I have single speaker posts (not bi-wire type), will it be better to use the twin output posts on the amp and connect both pairs of wires to the speakers?

I found that there was more punch, but the highs were reduced, maybe due to the improved lower frequency.

Thankful for your replies.

cheers

Hi Adrian,

In my opinion if your speakers only have one set of speaker post then it is best to use a suitable twin speaker cable to your taste. Speakers offering 2 pairs of terminals usually means that you can bi-wire them so that their internal cross-over are no linked between the bass and tweeter. Some improvements are often claimed when connected in this way by the manufacturers.
