Harshness on Sonneteer ByronMarch 9 2004 at 11:08 AM No score for this post | San Elan (no login) |
| Hello,
My combination is:
AA Puccini Amp + Byron CD + Vienna Acoustics Haydn Signature + QED SA speaker cable:
I've tried the following interconnects:
Cable talk Minitor 2 - Harshness on some recordings
Black Rhodium Symphony - Smoother, but the voices are lost somewhat
Black Rhodium Concerto - Agains harshness.
Do you think that Chord Cobra will fix this problem?
Thank you.
Regards

Hi,
sorry for late in response we have been away at exhibitions and busy with our other schedules.
We are somewhat surprised that you seem to think the Byron is sounding harsh on some recordings. In our experience and feedback from customers that is not part of the Byron's characteristic.
We have no experience with the speakers you are using but I would suggest you try a different interconnect and speaker cable. Do you have another source you listen to? If so how do they sound like? If they sound similarly harsh then it points to the later chain of equipment: ie amp/cable/speakers. Easiest way is to check this first. Does your speaker cable contain silver? We have often found cabling with high silver content be it interconnect or speaker will give a hard edge to sound and we dont recomment it.
