Right you are Fax. But I do my extracting right from a SONG strip by and large. As long as the BPM and samples are all lined up and stable, I'll REGION out an area with just a BD, or SD, fill, etc by using ppq/notation values. I can copy this snip to Trk D, and string it together that way, or MARK it and drag over to Pad Bank for further Editing and/or Effects. Then I can easily reinsert the modified sample back to the existing track, or map it onto another track for different EQ's and/or realtime effects.
