Replace Zip drive

I recently purchased a used sp-808 on e-bay. When I power it on it seems ok, the graphics come on and says roland groove box 1.0 ect.... The problem that I have is after that comes on it says "insert disk" When I do nothing happens. It doesnt even seen to be sending power to the zip at all. Should I try to replace it?? It seems simple enough to do...I just dont want to waste money on a new zip drive if I dont have to....Any info would realy help a lot.....Corey.
