I hope you didn't get screwed too bad on the price of your 808...

It sounds like the jumper on the back of your zip drive may have come lose. I'd check that before you replace the drive. If you need to replace, I'd think about going with a 250MB. You'll also be able to upgrade to the 808EX operating system, which gives you everything the EX has.

I tried replacing my 100MB drive with a new 100MB, but it didn't work properly. Too slow for some reason. So, I went with the 250MB and the EX upgrade and I'm loving it (that's to say I've had no techincal problems).

If you need help figuring out how to take the machine apart, there is a ton of info the on the web giving detailed instructions (if you dig around on this page long enough, you'll eventually find all the info you need). If your still stuck, just post again and we'll help...
