Yup I agree. I love the shit out of my 808ex for quick and easy sampling of heaps of instruments, looping, and adding fx, but its about as useful as a kick to the scrotum when it comes to editing (unless your doing the simplest of simple simple stuff). I guess this was the way it was designed, but it claims to be able to do things alot more smoothly than it actually can. 'Drive too busy' shows up far too much for the £850 price tag it carried when it was first released. Don't regret owning one at all, but reckon it was a touch overpriced. Why won't roland release the source code for it? Would that allow some clever boffin to make it write to hard drives? If its discontinued, then what's the problem?
