for a start forget the factory disk, its only there to start u off.nobody makes songs with that stuff, if u do, well i'd recommend the mc303.
yes, you can download sounds from the web, i dunno the mechanics of loading to an internal zip, i just do it via audio cable.
where else to get sounds? the kitchen,old vinyl, a cat and a stick, sounds of nature, factories - bang some things together and record it. run the sounds thru stretch, various fx until you are happy.
the whole beauty of the 808 is that you can make sounds nobody has heard before, you can be original.
forget using presets.
there are plenty of websites with samples and sound fx available, jus do a search for things like, sound fx, samples, sampling.
dont forget the very fine monosynth in the 808, that thing is worth the price alone.
