I know the 808 only likes things at 44.1k or 32k ONLY!
Chances are when you were transdering the sample and/or handling it in a editor you 'stretched it' and/or saved it to (in this case) higher format like 48k et al. Some editors handle stretch/squish differently in a PC/MAC buffer environment.
