Dang! I don't know how to help you out. I bought my upgrade about 8 months ago and paid a flat $29.99 from the phone # and extension I posted. They must have raised the prices.

I suggest you do some looking around online. You MIGHT be able to find a better deal, or you might not. This is just another prime example of why Roland tech support sucks! They think we electro musicians are made of money and it makes me MAAAAAAD!

If you live in an area that has a large music store (Guitar Center/Mars Music, etc.), go see if they carry the 808EX. If they do, you're in luck. All you have to do is bring in a zip disk and copy the OS off of the 808EX. For more info, go to this site:

If you get desperate, I'd be willing to make a copy of the 808 EX OS for the price of a 100MB zip disk and shipping (maybe $15 or $20?) and send it to you. But try to find something online first.
