How to get OS onto sp808ex

Well I just bought one after selling my old one, which was a sp808ex a long time ago.
I have an mpc2000xl as well but I missed the fx board onthe sp808ex so much.
I didn't relise how good it was till I tried rac mounts and the 808 pisses on some of those.
Anywayz it says on the roland site you need a midi file player to update O.s?
Can't I just do it from a Zip drive that is attached externally?

Whats the easy way to update and how do I check what O.S is on the sampler at the mo?

Hope the zip drive is not too noisy on this one, my last was quite quiet compared to some I've heard..anyway I just bought it for it's effect bank really.
