Vocals on "Don't Make Me"...

There are three distinct vocal takes on this tune. The main vocal is the up front, center vocal track. I then added two distinct tracks panned 50% left and right of each other, and they are performed along with the main vocal track, but I used a harsh, raspy voice while singing, like a forced whisper. what made it cool IMO was that it echoes the main vocal, adding depth and chorus - especially with the panning. I was amazed at the results because I rarely spend much time on vocal production - compared to the big boys. I'm always too anxious to complete the song.

I had heard about whisper tracks and how they can add "air" to an otherwise plain track. But I stepped this up with the vibe of the song and added two takes (separate performances so they would mix well).

There is also a rhythm track in there that was literally a sample of me making some strange sounds using my mouth cavity (hard to explain). then I triggered that sample across a keyboard and sequenced it. Somehow it accidentally fit!
