time for a new zip drive?

by knobt

hi Darius
It would seem that your 808 is booting up okay, because it gets itself to the "please insert disk" stage. So I doubt it is a software problem.
if nothing happens when your insert a disk (usually zip drives are quite noisy - clicking and whirring noises) and your zip drive is silent, I'd start saving up for a new drive.

Does the 808 eject the disk...or how do yo get it out?

you may as well buy a 250 version (probably can't even get a 100mb anymore except at junk markets) make sure you get one with ATAPI rather than USB.
It is easy to change over the drives, you need nothing more than a screwdriver and a bit of common sense. if you search the archives here, you will find the instructions somewhere.

feel free to ask questions
remember tho, this is the net!
cheers
