Alright. A brief report: the unit installed relatively easily (be
careful with that 90 degree turn the ribbon cable makes and make sure
to set the IISDMC jumpers to "Master").

Since my "studio" is in a state of disarray I was only able to do
minimal testing. I used a 128MB Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo (in an
adapter to fit regular Memory Stick slot). From the SP-808EX, I was
able to format the card, create a song and verify that after turning
off the power and restarting, the song was present and loadable. I did
not yet verify that the song info (other than the name, I suppose) was
restored correctly.

I will post more as I learn more, but given my current schedule, don't
hold your breath."
