A new song...

by

I had a few days to myself over the holiday break, so I did two major major things in my studio....

1. I finally upgraded to the 21st century in terms of my Macintosh. I've been using a blue and white G3 all this time to produce all of my songs. I'm now using a circa 1999 grey G4 (the AGP graphics one with the 400MHz CPU) but upgraded to an 800MHz CPU. Yay. I upgraded Digital Performer to 4.5 (from 2.7). Not everything is moved over yet, but soon.

2. I produced a new track. It's still a bit rough in terms of the dynamics, but I'm not worried. My board, Onyx 1640, has parametric EQ's... sort of... something that my old Mackie 1604s did not have. The track is called "Goddess" and it can be downloaded from this link...

It's 99% done. I just have to fix the dynamics of the lead synth so it doesn't hit the highs so much. I was playing with the fader throughout on the lead synth channels. I should probably keep it peaking at 2dB below everything else and the rest of the frequencies will just shave off (or mask) the harshness of the lead synth highs.

It's good to be back
