How do I doll glossy powder burn?

Funny thing--a few days ago I applied a powder burn with my airbrush. I used regular black paint. However it came out with this semi glossy finish. Just now I tried dulling it with black pastel chalk. It is still too glossy? How do I correct this?

Warm Regards,
