OK I've finally done it. After 16 years of modelling I've cast my own parts, and now I'm addicted! I moulded a few resin water jerry cans, and was very happy with the results. I am using a commercial tube of RTV rubber and a 2 part resin. I do however (here it comes) have a few questions and problems.
1) Can you thin RTV rubber? I think this may sort out some of the air bubble problems I have.
2) As already mentioned, I'm getting quite a few air bubbles, any suggestions?
3) Can I make my moulds last longer? After a few castings they are in quite poor shape.
4) I want to take a mould of some figures heads, what's the best way of doing this?
