Response to Painting Vinyl Tank Tracks

Airbrush the tracks matt black acrylic. drybrush the tracks using a mix of raw umber oils and silver for perhaps 2 or 3 passes adding more silver each time. Wash tracks with a mix of humbrol buff and say Matt 29 earth (to denote sand and dirt) or you could use Titanium white oil dirtied slightly with some raw umber oil (this is a super oil wash for sand). Finally highlight the tips of the cleats using a pure silver, I use a metallic silver acrylic, but any bright silver would do, this shows wear. Don't be tempted to use rust colours as I don't think Abrahams tracks do rust, as you should know?!.

Hope this helps

Alex
