Response to Questioning the conventional wisdom of chipped paint

I think chipping was a craze, it caught on and burned hot for a while. I don't think its all that realistic but it can look impressive if handled well. For the most part I think its over done. When I look at a model and the first thing I notice it the chipped paint I think its too much. As stated above under some conditions paint would be more prone to chip than others. Take a look at
construction equipment you'll see very little actual paint chipping.
