Home Depot sells 3/4 inch "hobby panels" 2ft by 2ft of this stuff. I usually get mine from the trash bins at building sites.
To cut it, I use a bread knife. It has small serrated teeth and cuts without too much dust. Mine is about 10 inches long so I can cut multiply stacked sheets.

Why I don't build German?
They lost, didn't they?
