I have a question concerning the construction of these tracks. I am working with kit #ATL-13, 38t tracks for a Marder 3m. It says you have to drill a bore in the link using a 0.5mm drill. What is the purpose of this? I test fitted the links togther using the provided wire and they seem to mate up fine. Just not sure why drilling the bore link is necassary. any help is needed. Thanks in advance.

Friul tracks.

May 18 2004, 6:58 AM

Hi Chad,

The idea behind the drill is to clean out any holes that may not be completely clear, it's not usually necassary to drill every one. I only run the drill through if I have trouble fully inserting the pins.
In my experience, some Friul tracks are better than others, but like you, I've recently built the 38(t) tracks with out having any clean up at all.

Hope this helps,

Darren.
