How Do I Texture Armor Plate using Mr. Surfacer

Hi there, I have tried many other methods before but now I want to try MR. Surfacer.

I want to use it for texturing the armor plates on Panther, and T-34 turrets.

Any ideas, or suggestions?

Can you point me to any "how to" articles?
