I just got an external scsi external cd rom drive for my MPC 2000XL....I also bought 2 sample cd's. The sample cd's are: Akai soundscan cd's with aiff. and wav. files. for some reason the file will not load. they show up in the load screen...and I can cycle through all the different files, but for some reason when I press"Do It"(load) it says "wrong file type" even with the WAV. files.
Does anyone have an idea of what might be happening?
Maybe the sample CD's are for a different AKAI sampler thats not compatible with the XL???

Turn your SCSI on First and make sure your ID is not the same as MPC ID.T"
