If it's the one I did for you I didn't use any lock tite on it and it should just unscrew with a little effort..

1) hold the rod in a vice

2) wrap an old belt around the nob and grab hold of it with a pair of vice grips,give it a turn counterclockwise.......

3)flip the rod over in the vice

4 use a screwdriver to remove the screw inside of the aluminum "cup"...that should do it....

****NOTE***** if I did use LockTite it WAS the red kind and you will need to heat the rod up a bit befor the threads will budge.....
