But, that being said, lot's of stuff happens on a public field.

If one of my friends did that in one of our private games, even his own players would turn on him in the next game. We try to play with the utmost regard to honesty.

Even though that technique may be a grey area, it swings way more towards the "spirit of cheating" than not breaking "the letter of the law".

Given that paintball does involve a certain level of Pain and Adrenaline, tempers can easily flare. Rather than risk getting socked in the mouth with an Autococker, we try to play a super polite, honest, and sportsmanlike game.

That dirty trick doesn't show good sportsmanship.

But you aren't going to go to hell for doin it once
