Ok...

1st, yes it sounds like you got a model 2001 pgp. My first bit of advice is that if you take it to a field to play you may soon feel outgunned by the other players with their semis and bulk loading pumps. DON'T LOSE HEART! ake your time and pick your battles rather than charging the front line. In the long run mastering a stock class marker (which is what you now have) may very well make you a better player than most.

Paint in the barrel: It does break sometimes and you can shoot through it, but the extra gook on the paint you shoot after the break is going to ruin your accuracy. In time you will learn how to prevent some breaks. Until then clean them out ASAP (between games). Tissues are fine, you may want to invest in a squeegie to save time on the field.

BLACK STUFF: This may just be oil that was in the marker, or I have heard that some PGP's have overspray of powdercoat in the barrel. I don't know if it would come off like this though. Someone else here may be able to help you better than I.

Most important! LEARN HOW TO BREAK DOWN AND CARE FOR YOUR MARKER (the PGP) IT NEEDS SOME TAKEING CARE OF! Clean and oil it lovingly!

ANyone else have anything to add?
