There you go:
Bogush was right yet again.
All along.
After crawling along to Bramcote behind one of Freda's Friends who had their eyes glued to their speedo all the way and was ever so careful never, ever, to creep even a fraction over an indicated 30mph.
All the way.
On 40mph roads.
I finally got there.
I'd assumed that Georgeda kept posting her invites because she was actually a member of her little club and wanted to boost attendance.
But the car park seemed quite full.
Unfortunately that was only because most people were taking up two parking spaces.
Except for what I assumed to be Georgeda's little Fiesta.
Which managed to take up three!
Anyway:
Managed to find a space. Parked. Walked to what I thought was the entrance:
Automatic doors wouldn't open.
Walked round: no other entrance.
Went back. Eventually someone came out. But the doors closed while I was asking him if I was too late.
And wouldn't open again.
Eventually someone else came out, and I eventually slipped in.
I wonder if the tram doors will be as efficient?
Bring £5.50 says Georgeda, to get in, and I'll buy you a drink.
Looks like s/he was reading out of date or inaccurate "information".
No change there then.
Or she was deliberately trying to fool me.
So no change there then either!
Fortunately, though I'm a tight Yorkshireman, I'm as canny as a Scott, and I had 50p emergency money with me.
So I had the right change after all.
And in I goes, gets changed, and to the pool.
Which, as predicted, my approach seems to have emptied.
Did spot a few people though:
No one that looked like the chap on the flume admitted to being George.
No one that had even the vestige of a beard admitted to being Georgeda.
Even the women.
And everyone denied having even heard of him.
Then the pool closed.
Everyone got out.
And got dressed.
So I, "naturally",
Followed "suit".
And went to the bar where I assumed Georgeda must have been waiting for me.
Big mistake:
Everyone who had got changed was obviously teetotal.
Everyone in the bar wasn't dressed.
But still no sign of the bearded one.
Or anyone who was prepared to admit knowing him.
Good to know you can rely on anyone associated with the trams!
