| I wonder what would happen if on one day everyone in the country decided to drive the a muddy puddle and obscure their number plates. This would constitute a summary, non-endorseable road traffic offence, if reported by a Police Contable. You would also be stopped and told of it there and then, not through the post and you would have the opportunity of pleading 'not guilty'. Needless to say speed cameras would be unable to capture, if of course you were speeding. |

why not just slightly damage your front number plate so the full number cannot be recognised.
you could get away with it for a while and if stopped by police say you are unaware of it and will renew it.
doubt if they would prosecute.
