As if we didn't know...
From Kate Hoey, writing for the DM (short extract from longer article):
"....survey by the RAC Foundation. It was a snapshot of driver behaviour in London and Glasgow. It showed cyclists seem to have the least regard for their own and others' safety.
One in ten car drivers fail to stop at red lights, while a further two accelerated through amber.
Bus drivers were worse, with two out of ten ignoring a red light.
But cyclists were worst of all - five out of ten in London and 2.5 in Glasgow sailing through stop lights.
...I see this regularly as I drive around London. As I waited patiently at a red light with a police car behind me, a cyclist came past at a fair old speed and went straight through the red light. The police totally ignored him.
... The sense that there is one rule for car drivers and another for cyclists feeds motorists resentment and risks bringing the law into disrepute....
LOTS more, but fingers tired.
