My ulcer is grumbling....

I can't remember whether it was here or another forum where this one came up, but here's my love letter to Avon & Somerset Tax Scameraship:

I've just read of your plans to use speed cameras on the M4 and M5 motorways. One phrase caught my eye:

"Fixed cameras could follow if the number of accidents is not reduced."

This makes no sense whatever. If speed cameras don't reduce the number of accidents, you will install speed cameras? With respect, if speed cameras don't reduce the number of accidents, then the accidents are not caused by speed, are they? So installing fixed cameras wouldn't help, would it?
Perhaps the phrase should have read "if mobile speed cameras don't achieve our financial target, we'll install fixed cameras instead"
Am I getting warm?
Yours,

But of course it's about revenue!

Read somewhere (either on another forum or in the papers) that the Scammers want to raise at least 3 MILLION fines in 2004.

Also the "MOS" Sunday did say that Braindead wants the number of NIPs issued to at least double across the country!

Safety? Reduce Deaths? Reduce Injuries?

Why not simply place the trafpols back on the roads! Funnily enough, all the figures seem to show that deaths etc were decreasing year on year under this quaint idea!

Seems to work in Canada by all accounts!

As long as the revenue is put to good use them I'mm all for it. An example of good use is to allow gems of wisdom to be broadcast such as:.....................
