Tell us more Aggie?

What "nasty weapons"?

.

Or were they not only blank firing pistols:

But blank firing pistols that couldn't fire anything else as they would blow up in your hand if you tried.

And 12 gauge alarms for farmers.

.

Sounds more like the "horrid" guns2thugs wasn't selling weapons to thugs.

But to protection to people being subjected to anti-social behaviour.

.

Strange that there should have been a market for such things in this New Labour Utopia we live in!

.

.

>> "I understand the local MP helped get both these sorted out."

What is he doing about the animal rights activists and their supporters and apologists.

I think we should be told.

Do let us know what this public spirited, citizen defending MP has done in this field, Aggie!

cs gas?!

cs gas ?!

Isn't that the stuff the police are allowed to protect themselves with if they ever come accross a criminal.

But the public aren't if they are being mugged, assaulted, raped or even murdered?!

>> "and also capable of being converted to fire live ammunition."

You've been reading that wonderfull "campaigning" anti-gun Post again, haven't you Aggie?!

Of course you can convert them.

But, as I said, you'd be more than unwise to try to use them in the converted state.

Even the Beeb says:

"The prosecution did not proceed with more serious charges alleging that the pistols were capable of firing bullets."

Now, why would that be?

.

>> "I don't recall anyone on this board describing our society as a utopia..."

Hardly.

After half a century of wishy-washy, bleedin'-heart, woolly-liberal, trendy-lefty, guardian-reading social engineering.

>> "that is apart from you Mr Mann. Is that what you believe? If so I regret to say that you are living under an illusion."

Have you been smoking the same kind of stuff that gets smoked at ministerial and prime ministerial dinner parties?

.

How could I think it's a Utopia when so called social workers and teachers have turned out generations of kids who roam the streets killing with impunity.

But what will happen to this guy?!

According to the Post:

"The CPS has recommended that each charge carry a ten-year sentence."

And it's a minimum of five!

.

By the way, did you know that Sigmund Freud believed that a fear of weapons is a sign of retarded sexual and emotional maturity.

I wonder what a fear of cars is a sign of?

Actually, that would be me, George (George P, that is).

Me, as in George G (for Green, but not in any environMentalist, nor naive, sense).

.

>> "I seem to remember we had this issue with him before and the moderators cleared up the legal position."

Actually, as I seem to recall from my reading of the archives, the moderators never commented on the issue.

Or do you mean directly to you (in the pub? At work, perhaps?)?

>> "We all had to put on each post: This remains the copyright of XXXX and the BBC and may not be reproduced in whole or part without permission from XXXX or the BBC"

Especially as that came from someone who didn't have a clue, and was totally and completely, incorrect.

However, someone who had actually taken the trouble to check the facts before posting clarified that you couldn't copyright posts on a forum.

And that anyone following the advice you are giving (again?) would be wasting their time.

.

Probably libelously?

About guns?

.

>> "This remains the copyright of George Painter and the BBC and may not be reproduced in whole or part without permission from George Painter or the BBC."

No, it doesn't George.

Coming from someone who keeps (in a most unfriendly and argumentative way) posting threats about seeing his solicitor:

You seem to be woefully ill-advised on matters legal.

I'd get a new solicitor if I were you.

Not a very friendly post, is it?

In fact, quite insulting.

Is that the most sophisticated contribution you could come up with then?

Hardly surprising if you think that cutting and pasting a few (of my ) posts must take hours and means that I need to get out more.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I actually spend most of my time out and about.

But then, I can think on my feet.

And type with all ten of my fingers and thumbs.

Hard to believe, I know:

But not everyone who has an internet presence lacks a life in the real world.

Think of it as my sacrificing a tiny part of my life for the benefit of my family, friends and the world at large.

In response to the quoted posts.

In a discussion with the quoted person(s).

And archived there as they seemed to keep disappearing from here for some strange reason.

Hope that helps.

Your inability to rid yourself of your demons is getting tedious.

.

>> "I'm still waiting for a simple yes or no on the question:

>> "Do you think car exhaust fumes are dangerous?"

>> "Yes or no"

Hardly surprising, as there isn't a simple yes or no answer.

But, just for you, I will give you a simple yes or no answer if, and when, you give me a simple yes or no answer to the questions I will ask at the end of this post.

.

>> "I don't want the rubbish you gave when you tried to avoid answering last time."

When have I ever tried to avoid giving you an answer, robert?

I'm waiting!

.

>> "Yes or no"

>> "What part of yes or no don't you understand?"

I understand every part of it.

Unlike, it would appear, yourself.

Which is surprising (and disappointing).

As I seem to recall you having this same conversation with your ol' mate bogey.

Who seemed to go to a great deal of time, trouble and effort trying to help you understand.

All to no avail, it would seem.

That man must have the patience of a saint!

.

Now then, here are my questions.

Every one of which you must answer with a simple yes or no to justify your demand, command, even, that I answer your question with a simple yes or no:

1) Do you think it is dangerous for someone with a deep seated brain tumour to have it surgically removed?

I'm waiting for a simple yes or no on the question.

2) If speed is dangerous would you agree that the slower you cycle the safer you are?

I'm waiting for a simple yes or no on the question.

3) If speed kills would you agree that the slower a plane flies the safer it is or do you think that it is safer for it to go faster?

I'm waiting for a simple yes or no on the question.

4) Some people say that if it saves just one life it's worth it and that one ton cars should travel at 20mph where there is a chance of a collision with a child so do you agree that trains should travel at 5mph wherever there is a chance of them hitting a child because they are so much heavier and harder and take so much longer to slow down.

I'm waiting for a simple yes or no on the question.

And, of course, the classic:

5) Have you stopped beating your wife yet?

I'm waiting for a simple yes or no on the question.

.

Bogush your answers.
Question 1..........yes......they could live longer without surgery.

Question 2..........yes.......I have experienced accidents on a bicycle, at slow speeds and at faster speeds. Luckily I live to tell the tale.

Question 3..........no.......As i am aware a plane must fly at a certain speed or it would stall. The skies are controlled better than roads.

Question 4..........no.......Trains do not travel where there are many children.

Question 5..........yes.......I'm not married. I deny any accusations.

There you are. Yes or No answers!!

Now where is your yes or no to just one question I have put to you?

It's easy, yes or no one or the other.

Sorry, but none of those were yes or no answers.

They were all qualified with a sentence.

You made the rules.

But even when it comes to things that you have written, you seem to struggle with understanding.

The Thoughts Of Chairman robert George Green - 165th post - 6 Sep 2005 21:24
.
Q1) Do you think it is dangerous for someone with a deep seated brain tumour to have it surgically removed?

A1) yes

So we should stop all surgical removal of deep seated tumours regardless of the judgment of the people actually in the driving seat.

.

Q2) If speed is dangerous would you agree that the slower you cycle the safer you are?

A2) yes

robert thinks that you won't wobble and then fall off if you cycle slower and slower.

.

Q3) If speed kills would you agree that the slower a plane flies the safer it is or do you think that it is safer for it to go faster?

A3) no

Huh?

.

Q4) Some people say that if it saves just one life it's worth it and that one ton cars should travel at 20mph where there is a chance of a collision with a child so do you agree that trains should travel at 5mph wherever there is a chance of them hitting a child because they are so much heavier and harder and take so much longer to slow down.

A4) no

robert seems to think it's OK for trains to hurtle through stations, over level crossings and through towns and cities where children often play on the tracks.

He doesn't seem to care how many kids get killed as long as the rail road companies can make loadsa profit.

.

Q5) Have you stopped beating your wife yet?

A5) yes

robert used to beat his wife!

.
