Total Personal Mobility - a Right and not a Privilege.

Nothing, but nothing, is as important to each and every person as the ability to move freely without let or hindrance whersoever in his own country that he so desires. This is as important as any of the rights of man conceded by King John to the Barons at Runnymede in the Magna Carta.
Putting to one side that it is a right and not a privilege, it encourages social contact, the stability of scattered family groups, the establishment of succesfull businesses, the exchange of information and the creation of opportunities, let alone the defence and security of the Realm it's benefits are vast and innumerable. Nothing more hugely contributes to the freedom of mobility than the motor car, which, as we all know, permits us to travel wheresoever we wish in comfort and privacy and at times and dates of our own choosing. It removes from us the risk of assault on public transport, the whims and vagaries of bus and railway timetables, as well as the need to both get to and from bus, railway and coach stations or stops. We may also carry with ease both passengers and baggage. As a benefit to Mankind little has contributed so much as the personal mobility that the motor car bestows upon us. Yet, the Government seek to tax and price it out of existence ; they impose arrogant and unreasonable restrictions upon it, ; they persecute drivers with a brutal determination that would be better directed at the enemies of this country, and they ride roughshod over the requirements and even the democratically expressed opinions of motorists, who constitute, by far and away, the largest single group of voters within this country. Don't accept this persecution - protest about it : hurt the Government, block the roads, write to your MP but for Crying Out Loud, do something - THEY NEED TO BE OPPOSED, AND VIOLENTLY SO - NOTHING ELSE WILL DO !!!!
