A Teenager held an air rifle to the head of a jobless plasterer and threatened to blow his head off, a court heard.
Keveh Bahrami, 17, allegedly confronted Stephen Ottewell and his friend Paul Musson with the gun as they walked in Loughborough Road, in West Bridgford, in August last year.
Mr Musson said Bahrami shouted 'stop' and both men turned round.
"He was as close as right on top of us by then," Mr Musson told Nottingham Crown Court yesterday.
"He put the gun up to my temple. He says, 'drop it... I'm going to blow your head off and burn your house down'. I said, 'What am I dropping? Drop what?'"
Mr Musson had paperwork in his hand after he had been to a building site in Loughborough Road to put in quotes for plastering work.
He said after a few moments Bahrami went over to Mr Ottewell and put the gun to his eye.
Mr Ottewell grabbed hold of the barrel of the weapon, but Mr Musson urged him to let go and said he felt the gunman was not "messing about".
Mr Musson said: "I was frightened to death."
The men walked on towards Asda when they say the teenager shouted, 'Turn round' before he allegedly fired the weapon into the air.
"I tried to run but my legs just didn't move," Mr Musson said.
Bahrami, who lives in Loughborough Road, denies possession of an air rifle with intent to cause fear of unlawful violence.
Jonathan Dee, prosecuting, said Mr Ottewell pointed out a house where the defendant had come from and an air rifle was recovered the next day.
Bahrami made no comment in police interviews.
He was picked out by both men in an identification parade.

Guns ARE banned, do try to keep up.
Legal guns were banned then gun crime doubled and the country is flooded with illegal guns.
So you want to ban air guns?
What happens then...?
I'll tell you what happens then...the scrote in your story goes down the pub and buys a real 9mm semi automatic pistol for peanuts and really does blow someone's head off.
You keep rolling atop the emotional wave George.
May I suggest you give your brain a little exercise instead...? |

The reasons for illegal gun numbers going up include a spread of Yardie, west Indian criminal gangs into drugs etc, and guns originating from terror groups in Northern Ireland that are inactive or disbanded. | |
