'Climate Change and Transport'

Dr Jillian Anable, Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Transport Policy, Aberdeen
Bettina Lange, Campaign for Better Transport

Chair: Helen Ross, Nottingham City PCT
Monday 19th May 2008 - 7:30 - 9:30pm (refreshments from 7:00pm)
County Hall, Trent Bridge

Transport is a crucial aspect of our economy and our daily lives. It is also a major contributor to the generation of the green house gases that cause climate change.
Our approach to transport needs to change fundamentally if we are to significantly reduce green house gas emissions.
Technology may provide some efficiency improvements but the most pressing need is to address our transport behaviour and travel patterns.
Our speakers are well placed to present informed views of the issues relating climate change and transport and how we might best approach the development of policies to mitigate the impact of transport on climate change.
Dr Jillian Anable will present a national perspective and Bettina Lange will focus on the local and regional issues.
Following short presentations there will a ‘question time’ discussion with the speakers responding to points raised by the audience. Please join us and contribute to this timely and important event addressing a set of issues that are central to our common future.

I hope I'm not getting confused here.

Isn't that "transport" policy centre the one that was set up by the anti-car "transport" chair of an anti-car council?

Using funds from a bus company!

And isn't the campaign for better "transport" the new name for Trainspot 2000!!!!!
