I attended the meeting in Avonmouth yesterday .It was very constructive , although poorly attended . However several members of the public did attend, and some had travelled in excess of 200 miles to get there.

One of the main items on the agenda was a peaceful protest planned for Saturday the 24th of Feb.

The idea is to have peaceful demonstrations in every major town and city in Britain It will be carefully coordinated and several areas are now covered they are .
Cardiff
Swansea
Carmarthen
Avonmouth
Bristol
Manchester
Chester

If you would like to see a short peaceful demonstration in your area and can help in any way please contact me . Even telephone numbers of local firms woiuld be helpful .
Thanking you Shirley

Hi Shirl,

The meeting may have been poorly attended but a lot was set in motion, a lot was discussed, and I think we got a lot further there than what we have for a while.

Keen to help

January 30 2001, 4:16 PM

I would love to do something to help. Perhaps I could switch on all my household applicances at the same time, to cause a massive surge in the demand for power and bring the national grid to a state of collapse.

I remember this was an idea the fuel protestors came up with just before Christmas and it seemed like an excellent plan at the time. I don't know why it didn't seem to have much effect - one of my lightbulbs did flicker, come to think of it, but I think it was on the way out anyway.

I will start sorting out my kettle, iron, table lamps and get the washing machine loaded up.

Just get yourself along to your nearest protest on the 3rd of March.
