I filled up last night, I paid 75.9p a litre.

That's 14p a litre less than when the protests started in September.

OR

£3.45 a gallon, which is less than the £4.10 a gallon in September. Reference: BTP site

A saving of 65p a gallon!!!

So, you got what you wanted so please give up.

74.9p Litre

February 6 2001, 2:10 PM

Its 74.9p litre in TESCO Coventry with 1% extra off if you put your TESCO card in the machine, that's 74.15p litre.

BP is 76.9p litre round here, but they charge 89.9p litre to fuel protesters, because they know that that's what the fuel protesters think the price is.

Wrong again

February 6 2001, 9:56 PM

If the price of oil falls, the tax has to fall, because it is a % of the base price.

The % is the same, but the tax amount has fallen, both duty and VAT.

See my "European Fuel Prices" post on the sensible board. You'll learn a great deal about fuel prices. Soon the Europeans will be begging for a taste of our cheap fuel.

See "Australian Fuel Prices"

Posted by me under "European Fuel Prices" on the sensible board.

It explains why its cheaper to travel in the UK than Australia, even though their fuel costs half our price.

Read my lips Bill Bowens

February 7 2001, 9:47 PM

The price of unleaded at my local TESCO has fallen by 16.67% in four and a half months.

We now only pay a few pence more for fuel than everyone else in Western Europe and we don't pay their huge road tolls, increased Income Tax, increased Small Business Corporation Tax or increased National Insurance.

Our fuel tax is frozen for two years, their's is not.

UK motorists and UK hauliers now have a substantially better deal than their European counterparts.

UK farmers and fishermen pay 95p gallon for fuel rebated diesel.

Your problem is not our tax system, which is one of the lowest in the world, its your inability to run a business.

I am in manufacturing, I need fuel to move my products and power my sales reps vehicles. I wouldn't swap our taxes for any others in Western Europe.

Stop your campaign of dissinformation regarding UK taxes NOW.

If you want to know what high taxes are, study what our European neighbours pay. They wish for what we have now.

The joke has gone too far. Stop this idiotic fuel protesting, lest you kill the goose that is laying golden tax eggs for the UK.

Diesel 82.9 here
& please do work out for me what I have saved cause
I'm too busy trying to run a business, unlike you.

What the whole protest is about is TAX ON FUEL or
didn't you realise that, cause you and your mate Arthur are so full of **** you belong down the nearest
sewer.

Are you people searching for expensive fuel?

February 8 2001, 9:14 AM

Our local TESCO (Coventry) is selling diesel at 79.9p litre, so once again we have dissinformation from a fuel protester trying to prolong the life of a dead cause.

If you drive for a living, boycott your local garage and fill up on your travels when you see a cheap price.

That makes more sense than boycotting poor old BP, who are dead cheap in Coventry.

Or did it never occur to a fuel protester's brain to avoid the expensive sites and buy from the cheap, until the price comes down at the empty dear sites?

Every time you send in a post full of **** and the like, in reply to our reasoned, researched arguments, you are parading the real reason why your business is in trouble. Its your own inability to make money in one of the lowest tax environments in the developed world. Stop blaming me, Rob, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, the wife, the kids, the cat and whoever else you try to blame.

You are the failure. Pull yourself together, stop drinking and get your brain into gear.
