Although I agree with the principle they are trying to achieve, cutting excessive speeding, I am against the current Speed Camera policy because:-

1. They are only ever likely to catch people who are unfamiliar with the area they are driving in.
2. They are being set with zero tolerence whereas I believe a car speedo is not 100% accurate so it is possible to be speeding by a few mph without even knowing it.
3. I believe being a couple of mph over the limit is far preferable than taking your eyes off the road every few seconds to check your speed (sorry officer I didn't see little Johnny run out as I had my eyes on my speedometer!).

I think they used to be set at 10% plus 3 mph over the limit which I feel is a fair tolerence (i.e. 36mph in a 30mph limit, 80mph in a 70mph limit).
