as an obligatory female vote

The first thing that got me was Killy because I thought he was similar to Kyouya.

Then I saw the really kick ass female cyborg chick with the folding boomarang and decided that she rocked muchly.

There are so few cool females in any manga out there that I immediately liked her. =\ Even though she wasn't around for long.

Killy is cool.

The architecture made nice art references. I also liked the fact that there wasn't any of the typical girly fanservice that's ovten thrown in whether it fits or not. If you do fanservice for the guys, I say that you have to do it for the girls too....and that never happens of course. BLAME! was pretty darned refreshing IMO.
