Well, I have to disagree. I think the anime holds only a vague relationship to the actual plot, so whatever happens there doesn't necessarily hold true in the manga. So I think in the manga, the girl with the dog isn't Cibo at all. She's just some other agent. She doesn't even look all that similar.
And yes it has been discussed, although not on this forum, that the ending might be the beginning, that is to say that BLAME! would be a cyclic story of some sort. But I also disagree with that, as Killy is quite different than what he was at the beginning, and the net gene carrier that grew from the sphere is decidedly female, as opposed to the little boy from the beginning.
Also, now that I think about it, there was no way the boy was even a valid net gene carrier at all, unless the virus had not yet spread to where they were, but that is unlikely because if it hadn't why would a net gene carrier be special? I mean, that's why the net gene carrier at the end is wearing that hazmat suit; or else she would either be killed by the virus, or lose her net genes. So Killy just thought the boy was a net gene carrier for some unknown reason, since he didn't have his cool scanning vision by then (or he had it disabled, and it got restored by Sanakan's body compound). |
