I noticed the same! Especially the phallus-like head of the big monstre in (I think) vol.2 reminds me of gigers designs. But Nihei has his own style, he doesnt copy EVERYTHING!^^
Well, I wouldnt be surprised if some aliens come knocking on Killy`s door..
