Your point raise another question in my mind: why Davinelulinvega write the data into Cibo?

Despite this, please let me explain why i guess that it was Cibo who stole the safeguard data. (While at the same time i still consent that your understanding really make sense: Cibo may not be the thief.)

[1] Of course the representative of the Governing Authority said that it was Davinelulinvega who stole it, but i suspect that the sentence was refering to the network ID of Davinelulinvega instead of the ontological one. Just like a server will only discern the network ID of a user. (i.e. It was the "network identity" of Davinelulinvega, while who really was using the identiy was another question.)

[2] According to the scans provided by Fairybane, we see that Cibo restored the whole person of Killy, including his memory. That's consistent to Log.49 that she cured the right arm of Killy (which i didn't aware!!!!) after being transformed. Now i suspect that besides exploring the netsphere, Cibo intentionally stole the safeguard data in order to provide the greatest help to Killy... (poor Cibo)...

So the point is how the G.A. representative discern a user who logged in.

If it is by gene data then the representative would regard both Davinelulinvega and Cibo as Seu only.

So i tend to believe that it is by the network ID, and all the others, like gene data, are only the attributes of the ID.

Therefore finally i guess the "hand" of Davinelulinvega which outthrew from "Seu" was some sort of final attack (which ended in failure).

Maybe i'm wrong, ok? Just personal idea ~_~

Points taken and such.

Counter-opinions:
[1] The governor dude tells Seu-Cibo "Davinel stole the data of the highest ranking safeguard right before death." Right before getting X'd, Seu-Davinel jams his hand through the wall. I'm pretty sure that's the stealing action the guy's refering to. A visible action, rather than an unseen one.

When Cibo first becomes the Level 9 Safeguard, Dhomo tries to kill her, since Ico tells him it'll be unstoppable when complete. The two of them are safeguards, so they shouldn't have anything to fear from other safeguards, unless they're on different sides for some reason.

As part of his last attack or revenge, Davinel must have set the data to go after them. And sure enough, it does, by killing Dhomo. More than likely not an act of self defense, since she didn't seem to mind Killy shooting at her.

[2] Hmm... Never thought about that. Guess it was also Cibo who caused his memory to return, rather than just the shock of the attack and the longer amounts of regeneration.

Looks like I was wrong about him not having Sanakan's insta-respawning abilities... the swirling bits of his skin suit look like Sanakan's own materializing FX. Wonder if Dhomo could also do that if he wasn't out of electricity.

The one part I'm wondering about is his arm flying off while shooting the GBE. It was in its big, honkin', Cthulu-slaying mode, where the kickback's strong enough to break his arm at the elbow... That was just a weird way for his arm to break off; at the shoulder and otherwise intact after shooting it at least 3 times consecutively. It was a quick display, so guess the stress was actually piling up there after each shot, just not shown.

Thanks fer the debate

i think he was testing his muscle regeneration power himself, that he intentionally flung off his arm.

For me, again the question is that why Davinelulinvega write the data into Cibo... ~_~

It seems that the only little destructive act after the transformation, was destroying the architecture. i am not sure whether Dhomochevsky's "death" was directly caused by Davinelulinvega, but you know, the physical body of mankind doesn't really matter in the world of "Blame!" (while strange enough it seems not to be the case of silicon creatures) so i just think that what Iko really worrying was the fate of Cibo, and therefore sacrificed himself to reactivate the Dhomochevsky (we can see that Dhomochevsky always take good care of Cibo).

Still i think i need some more hints to clarify the whole thing : )

Thanks Bob, your points are always insightful ~_~
