Begun, the backlash has

Wow, there's a whole load of stuff there. First of all, I want to know about the Romulan theme. If it's after the credits (on track 1 of the CD) then whats the Rommie theme - is it just the 5-note motif, descending like daa daaa da da daaa or is there something else not on the CD?

Now, getting on to the Enterprise crashing into that ship - my problems are really about the logistical stuff (I'm pretty sure shields only keep out energy beams anyway), or even the moral perspective, since I guess if the needs of Earth outweigh etc etc - but it's about this symbolism of the two ships. So you have the 2 sides of Picard, and this 1 side of Picard wants to destroy the home of the other Picard, but why would one side of Picard want to destroy his home (read: the id) while the other side would want to save it? And then the 2 sides destroy each other to... oh I dont know. I'm probably talking bollocks , but trek films have always been allegorical and this one just seems to have no coherent framework behind it.

I'm sure something more meaningful could;ve been done with the clone storyline. btw who's heard the new Tatu song, it's pretty good innit. Better than Justin Timberlake that's for fecking certain.

Anyway, you know why it's called a backlash? Cos it's like you're leading a dog and he tries to get out of control, so you pull the lash back. That's all it is y'know. Bringing the beast back under control. But here you have an opportunity to let the beast loose! Nemesis has bombed by any1s reckoning, Enterprise is doing badly, (though whether season 2 is good or no depends on who you listen to) - the opportunity exists to bring Trek to its knees! (Or I mean let it run free) I mean an immoral act, which serves a higher need, that's what we're talking aobut right. And Berman aint sucha bad sort, gave good trek, but it's time for something new - how many times have we heard original writers saying how they were rebuffed by the trek machine.

That said I;ve always been intrigued by this idea of Logan's for Trek XI, even though I have no idea what is was (and maybe it was just some discarded idea from TrekX)/ But I think the time has now come to let the beats loose. Unzip your pants my friends, and let that beast run amok!!
