I was talking Semantics. Faith requires an absence of Proof- by definition.

I agree humans in society are rendered unneccessary as traditional human jobs like Garbage removal are becoming mechanised. -which kind of defeats what I think the purpose of Scientific advancement should be and that is to benefit and inform, Not replace mankind. That's probably not what you meant. What you mean is that cold scientific categorization such as Gene mapping, dehumanises people. I kind of agree, but we have to kill... I mean overthrow our representatives and create a World in which civil rights are at the foundation for everything.
Morals and ethics are in a category outside of Faith. Religions have always tried to brainwash us with the idea that Religious Faith is synonimous with goodness and Morality. It's bullshit. We dont need the house of cards foundation for morality that religion provides us, where we only know something is wrong when we read about it in the bible and consequently are denied our most reliable indicators- our own conscience and judgement.
The Trek world is, probably by chance, a complete and workable moral society that We will someday emulate if there is any hope for us at all. they do the human race a great disservice by messing it up with this vague "Faith" concept.

Since God cant be disproven, Religion is only logical. If you're wrong nothing happens, if you're right you go to heaven instead of hell. It makes sense. My personal philosophy however is that Religion is an evil and destructive force in the world and they're not getting their hands on another convert. Whatever they're offering.
