I have what could be a very distressing situation to deal with tomorrow. A bank has given me a very hard time about my mother's power of attorney, they won't honor it. If I can't get at some funds they have, I'm going to have a real problem on my hands. My lawyer says there shouldn't be a problem but there was a few onths ago.

I'm going to take my cats and drive away some where and let someone else deal with all of this as I am just about completely at my wits end with this whole situations my mother and her nasty sarcastic comments about "her money". I wish they'd never had any money at all to deal with then she and my brother wouldn't argue about it constantly and I get caught in the middle.

I don't care if the state of Arizona take over her guardianship and take over the whole damn estate I'm so sick of this shit.

Why doesn't the lawyer contact the bank?
Have you talked to more than one person at the bank?
If the PoA IS valid wouldn't it be illegal for the bank to withold funds?

It seems to me you need to determine what the bank's problem is with the PoA. If they have a legitimate concern, that needs to be addressed. If they haven't got a leg to stand on... and perhaps you need a third party to determine that... you need to find someone to throw their weight around.

Aren't there any folks you dealt with earlier (regarding your parents' troubles) who can give you guidance... point you in the direction of some sort of advocate or something?

I had problems of a similar vein following dad's death, with him having died intestate and me being the sole next of kin, but still trying to prove I was his executor and his estate should go to me. Sending you good thoughts for a positive outcome. You don't deserve this cr*p hon.

I wish I could be there with you but I think that maybe you should take your kitty's and find a motel somewhere that is nice and quiet with a place you can really relax. Even if it for one night. Take your fav music, some great escape books and take a Loonnnnggg soaking bath.
