Creation Entertainment announced today the signing of a new licensing agreement with Viacom Consumer Products (VCP) to co-produce with Paramount Pictures, “Star Trek” events throughout the United States beginning in 2002.

These events will feature innovative programming and multimedia content that will cover the entire “Star Trek” phenomenon, while offering fans the opportunity to meet their favorite celebrities.

Erin Ferries, Vice President of Licensing for Creation Entertainment said, "It is the intent of this agreement to bring conventions of the size, scope and production values of our annual “Star Trek: Grand Slam Convention” held in Pasadena to fans around the country. With VCP and Paramount Pictures as partners, this will now finally be possible."

“Creation Entertainment and Paramount Pictures have enjoyed a successful relationship for many years,” said Terri Helton, Senior Vice President of Licensing for VCP. “We are happy to be expanding that partnership to a new level.”

“Star Trek” conventions are already booked for Seattle on February 23-24 and Pasadena on March 22-24 the events will be billed as Creation Entertainment and Paramount Pictures present "Star Trek: Grand Slam Convention: On Tour". Additional dates will be announced shortly.

wondered exactly what this meant, too. They obviously have some kind of contract with the ST franchise but I don't know if that implies/means exclusive rights to ST "stuff" or not.

Wait until Scotty encounters Cremations - he's had such a good time with ALL the Leapcons since and during QL - he's going to be majorly PO'd once he tastes the Cremations way of doing things...
