Okay, I was just starting to think Andromeda was getting good. I should never think.

What was it with this ep anyway? I can hardly remember a thing about it, other than I kept waiting for Beka's fake hair to fall off.

Was there ANYTHING good about this ep?

Well, it wasn't the ep with the Borg guy; that was good.

BOOOOOOOOOOORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Either you missed nothing or I missed everything!

I kept waiting for something to happen. Bad bad ep. Nothing is so damaging as boredom...

You didn't "miss" anything

as far as I could tell. The only thing that I liked about this whole epi was the facial expressions on KS when he was dealing with the aliens. And when he was telling Beka & Co. that they had to put the stone back that they just stole. I thought that part was good.

But, this was a "Beka epi" and we all know what I think of those.... <<shrug>>

And speaking of Beka, what was with the phony pony?! Talk about a BAD idea! I think they better find a better hairdresser! That thing was so beyond bad that you could tell that it wasn't her hair. The color was wrong, the length changed more than once and it was put in so badly that everytime she was on screen all I could do was look at her hair and wait for it to fall out! By the time the epi was over I was wishing that it had fallen out just to give the epi some life.

And I had a real problem with the whole "love 'em and leave 'em" thing. Who falls for the first guy the see in weeks/months and then sleeps with them and then is all sad and teary when you have to leave 'em? I could see her sleeping with the guy to get what she wants, but to FALL for him that quickly?! Give me a break!! Who falls in love in a matter of days? Or was it hours,or was it weeks, or months maybe? They never give you any kind of time line in this show. And I've had a probelm with that for a long time. I even brought that subject up to Ash in the chat room when this show first started. And I know at least one other person has too. But... what do I know, I'm just a wanna-be fan...... <<shrug>>

But, like I said, we all know what I think of Beka. So you can what I've said as you like. It's all MHO, I could be wrong.....

Well....

October 22 2001, 8:49 PM

I saw it late Friday at the con in Jaimie's room.

I liked it...LOVED Beka. I am a fan of Anthony Lemke (the guy who played the thief so that may have influenced me).

I continue to be frustrated by my issues with script and film editing decisions. This is the second Ethlie ep I've seen where the final "piece" of the puzzle didn't make sense, apparently because of editing (ties that blind, the one with Beka's brother was the other).

I did like seeing an Ethlie ep that had a lot of Tyr in it (NOT that I'm biased or anything).

Not the strongest outing....but compared to the sniveling Hoshi and the sneering T'Pol...I'll take it any old day.

I couldn't stop looking at her hair!

October 22 2001, 8:56 PM

I swear it grew from the beginning of the ep to the end. The color of the connecting hair was different, the color of the extension was different, and then they kept throwing the whole weird concoction over her shoulder. It was like a train wreck! I just couldn't stop looking!!

Another thing. This had to have been happening all in one or two days. Either that, or she woke up every morning for two months and put on the same bad braid. So, I guess she falls in love easily... Oh REALLY?!

ANOTHER thing, why is Rommie, THE SHIP, allowed to give opinions during a diplomatic meeting?! She doesn't even have an official rank! I like the character, but this is getting out of hand! Why are they putting her character in this position? It's just BAD writing! Crap, I've got more of a rank than she does... but nobody asked me...

Shhh,

OH!

And, YES, I was sick and tired of Harper harping, but to do all that moaning and groaning last week and then NOTHING, not even a mention of his predicament this week? What? What he just full of it last week?

See, that is where we differ. I'd much rather have them than a whiny, sappy, wanna-be bad ass, captian of her own ship who can't make her own decisions. But, that's just how I see her. And quite frankly, I think it's the actress more then the character that bothers me.

I disagree (then again you knew I would) (grin)

October 22 2001, 10:04 PM

<ANOTHER thing, why is Rommie, THE SHIP, allowed to give opinions during a diplomatic meeting?! >
Why is T'POL, a freaking diplomatic attache, a potentially HOSTILE one, allowed to take over the freaking ship when the captain is hurt in the LEG.

At Least rommie is ostensibly highguard. Much more so than T'Pol is federation.

As for whining, Beka WHINES???

Compared to the "oh my poor inchworm and I'm AFRAID" Hoshi???

Sorry, I must disagree.

On the bright side,my favorite character is Reed and I DID get to meet him on Sunday (I got a pic with him too) and he was a freaking SWEET HEART.

I mean, following Keith is a tough thing (with me)and he did just fine.

I just hope I end up liking Enterprise enough to stick with him (the jury is DEFINITELY out MOSTLY because of whiny whiny WHINY Hoshi and sneering T'Pol).

MHO of course.

Different strokes, but to me Andromeda is better than Enterprise in EVERY way except possibly production value.

Which doesn't for me make a show.

But T'Pol DOES have rank!

October 22 2001, 10:23 PM

She's a Sub Commander! At least she had SOME right to be in command! And I'm liking her more and more each week. LOL! She cracks me up! I've just never given a hoot about whether she's a hotty or not, just as I don't care if Kevin Sorbo or Keith H. Cobb are hotties. It's the character I like, and the way she pulls it off!!

Here's the thing, I LIKE Rommie! I just think they're using her incorrectly! I don't like her being "terrified"; that could cause problems. I don't like her rolling her eyes and insinuating her opinion into diplomatic missions; again, problems. I don't understand why Dylan is not the slightest bit worried about these things!

In case anyone is wondering, I like also Beka (actress as well as character )! I just thought this ep was terrible!

I really have to wonder if the writers are reading each other's material AT ALL. The personalities of the characters seem to change with the writers... They need to ALL be in the same room at some point during the writing of EACH episode. They need to consult with one another AND with someone who is in charge of quality control (for lack of a better phrase). There needs to be more consistency between eps and for all of the characters. This flip-flopping is screwing with the show!

LOL! Yeah, I knew you'd disagree......

OUOTE Lil:
"I just hope I end up liking Enterprise enough to stick with him (the jury is DEFINITELY out MOSTLY because of whiny whiny WHINY Hoshi and sneering T'Pol)."

Hoshi I don't really care about. She doesn't do much for me. I just look at her as a teacher, she's not much of an adventurer, yet.

Now T'Pol... I don't see as "sneering". I see her as trying to keep herself separate from the humans while she finds herself liking them in a "what is that on the bottom of shoe" kind'a way. She'd never admit that she finds them "interesting", but I think she does. Plus I think she is young and this is the first time she has had any real "one on one" interaction with them and she doesn't have anyone there from her race to help her deal with it. So she falls into the aloafnes, or "sneering" if you will, way that we see her acting towards them.
I think as the show progresses and she has had more time with everyone we will see more caring on her part. Spock wasn't all peaches and cream when he was first on Trek either and we see how close he came to be with Krik, and even the good Doctor.....

Again, this is all just my point of view. I respect that not everyone feels towards Beka (or T'Pol) as I do, and I don't expect you to just because I do. All this is just how I see things. And I thank you for not taking anything as a personal attack. I like that we don't agree, it gives this discussion a little spark of life. How boring if we all agreed to the same thing!

But but but...

Sneering isn't all that bad!

Tyr sneers all the time! He's a sneerin' steamin' hotty, and I like that!!

It's just part of their characters' personalities. I like it!

I never said that sneering was a bad thing. Hell I do my fair share of sneering. <<LOL>>

And that was a good point about Tyr. He is a "sneerer" ( is that even a word? LOL) too, I hadn't thought of it like that before but I think that's a good way of putting it.
