I think Christmas is going to be hard for some of us this year.

I'm very blessed to be spending it with two of the loveliest people I know, though, bless them, and I know that will make a big difference for me.

My dad died during the holidays three years ago. It's a tough time. But someone told me that after a while, we will find it easier to recall the times when they were strong and healthy, and the good times we had will be what we think of when we remember them...

There are lots of us without one or both parents or loved ones this holiday season. It's really easy to forget how hard it can be for many many people because we all try to 'do the right thing' put on the brave face etc etc.

So at least we can all just come here and have a bloody good laugh / whinge / rant / giggle / scream and enjoy ourselves - so thanks everyone:):):)

Thank God for genuine, caring friends.

I was going to distribute Dad and June's ashes on Saturday, but the weather was bad, so it had to be postponed - probably for mid-January. I so wanted it to be over, but...eh, that's life, shrug.

Seeing you all rally around someone that just needs a kind word or a hug makes me smile. Say what you want about the internet, you all are the best!

I pray for those of you that have lost someone near and dear. This time of year is very hard not having all of those that we love near us. Know that we are always here for you.

someday, I will will do for my parents what you are doing for your Dad and June.

Of course, my Mom is in very good physical health, so that might not be for a few years yet.
