I went to that chat out of curiosity. You guys know I've pretty much gone off Andromeda, which annoys me because I've always loved scifi shows. One thing I've enjoyed about Andro has been the outstanding, intelligent writing and deep ongoing storylines. Anyway, it was out of curiosity more than anything that I went along to that chat. If I was still a hard core Andromeda fan I would have been furious by the end of it.
The "suits" IMO (note the word opinion there!
) were condescending and evasive and more interested in providing a diversion via the Gordon Michael Woolverit Sideshow and Carnival than in answering the more intelligent of questions from fans. In the end precious time was taken up with the forced jolly banter between the suits and Gordon, and it just left me with the overwhelming feeling that it was nothing but a PR exercise. "Wait and see!" was the most repeated sentence. How often have we heard that before? The very valid concerns of the faithful, harcore viewers were disregarded, and the whole thing left me with a feeling that they were far more interested in appearances than anything else. Especially given that I seem to have been under the misapprehension that the chat was organised with a view to answering those very concerns.
But that's just my take on it, shrug.
It's a shame about Brent though. You have to wonder, Whisper.
